Many studies has been conducted at the university level throughout Türkiye, but few studies have been conducted at the high school level. Only one study was found throughout Samsun, and in that research, not all high school grade levels were conducted, so it was determined to conduct this research at the high school level. A total of 422 students responded to this research, which was conducted in 5 schools in İlkadım district, and each school was analyzed and the data collected from all schools were compared with each other. Quantitative research design was used for this study. A 5-point Likert type attitude scale survey developed by Orakcı (2017) was applied to the students. The attitude scale survey was analyzed with the SPSS statistical program. The aim of this study is to shed light on the questions of how students are affected by the English course and what are the reasons for their positive or negative attitudes. When looking at the research findings, it was determined that academic success rates increased according to students' positive attitudes towards English lessons, while success rates decreased according to negative attitudes.
